We Started In 1987.
Whole Life, Inc., a non-profit corporation was established in June of 1987 to meet the challenge of providing supports to individuals with developmental disabilities in the community. For over 30 years, Whole Life has successfully provided supports to individuals and families in a variety of residential and day settings throughout Connecticut.
Our agency continues to grow with over thirty (30) community living arrangements, several day and employment programs. Whole Life now employs over five hundred staff members who are dedicated to meet the needs of persons with developmental disabilities in the community.
Our Commitment
The Department of Developmental Services and the Department of Social Services contract with our agency to provide residential and community based day services that address a full range of needs and abilities. Our dedicated staff work with each person, their family and the interdisciplinary team members striving to meet their needs, hopes and goals. Daily we are carrying out our mission to provide community supports to individuals in an environment that promotes empowerment, choice, responsibility and control.

Advocacy
Whole Life practices person-centered planning. We support the principles of self-determination, informed decision-making and self-directed supports. All employees will guide and encourage you to speak and act for yourself. You are supported to express yourself and your preferences and to move towards accomplishing your goals. We encourage and support you to move forward with your goals and wishes. Sometimes we all need extra help for those things we do not understand or seem discouraging. Whole Life is designed to provide the advocacy you may need at such times. All the people who become involved on your team will be working with you to ensure your rights are protected and that you are able to “spread your wings” and soar as high as possible.

Success Stories
"Whole Life is a creative and meaningful adult day program. As guardian to two gentlemen who attend this program I am always amazed when I visit and see wonderful art projects in the making. The attendees and staff work so nicely together. Many times, my guys are on community adventures. Their needs are well met, as the staff knows them well. Whole Life has my highest recommendation!"
